Mark Zuckerberg, founder of the social network Facebook, has expressed a bulletin in which there are detailed some changes that they will realize as for the control of privacy of the users.

“We have centred on giving you the necessary hardware to share and to control your information”, affirms Zuckerberg. But his creators want to come even more background and try to reinforce the privacy of the system.

The current privacy model is binding with the work, the studies or the place of origin. “This exposition was working well when most of users of Facebook were students, since it was logical that they wanted to share content with study partners”. Pero Facebook has penetrated borders coming to all the sectors of the population and to all the places of the world.

Therefore “we have come to the conclusion that this format is not the most suitable so that our users have the control of his privacy” for the magnitude of the social set that it lodges. “Our plan is to eliminate completely the regional networks and to create a simpler model for the control of the privacy“. Also, the users will be able to know who sees his created or loaded files one for one.

All this will be carried out in the next weeks, where every user will have to update the configuration of his privacy.

With roughly 350 millions users, Facebook is enhancing its privacy controls and eliminating its regional framework for online communities.

When Facebook launched in early 2004 as an online network for college students to stay connected, the model centered on sharing information with “networks” of school friends. Over time, the network expanded to companies and regions as well.

Almost 50 percent of all Facebook users are members of regional networks, with some regions encompassing entire countries, such as India and China.

“As Facebook has grown, some of these regional networks now have millions of members and we’ve concluded that this is no longer the best way for you to control your privacy,” Zuckerberg said.

“We are adding something that many of you have asked for – the ability to control who sees each individual piece of content you create of upload. In addition, we will also be fulfilling a request made by many of you to make the privacy-settings page simpler by combining some settings,” he said.

“The plan we’ve come up with is to remove regional networks completely and create a simpler model for privacy control where you can set content to be available to only your friends, friends of our friends, or everyone.”

In the letter, Facebook’s users will be asked to review and update their privacy settings. A message on the site will explain the changes and take users to the page where they can update the settings, Zuckerberg said.

So far, more than 22,000 users have posted comments on Zuckerberg’s letter, most of which are positive feed backs.

The game as the name suggests allow Facebook users to farm; plough, seed, harvest along with rearing trees and animals, and own houses and decorations. It becomes addictive when users play it with their friends and try to level up and put their creativity in arranging and decorating their farms.

Micro-blogging site Twitter does not give directly comparable figures, but data from research firm Nielsen said traffic fell 27.8% between September and October to 18.9 million unique visitors.

Facebook’s strategy head Trevor Johnson told TechRadar, “Applications make up a huge part of Facebook. There are over 90,000 applications on Facebook.

“Sixty-nine million active users are using FarmVille alone, that’s more users than Twitter.”

There has been speculation about the impact of the rapid growth of Facebook’s upstart rival Twitter on its user numbers.

But Facebook as a whole, according to founder Mark Zuckerberg, has 350 million users around the world.

The site said that worldwide it was achieving 200 billion page views a month, with 1.6 billion messages are sent daily through its chat tool.

In the UK, Facebook said it had 23 million unique users a month, with each of those logging on spending around 25 minutes on the website per day.

It’s a substantial milestone for the company and at this rate there’s a chance that they could easily surpass 375 million by the end of the year. Regardless of the ongoing growth, more significant changes to the Facebook system lie ahead.

The first of which is the rolling out of the new privacy system which the company first showed off to reporters back in July. In addition to a new privacy system, Facebook continues to test their new homepage with users, something we’ve received multiple emails about. As these changes move forward, users will no doubt go through a significant adjustment phase, however Facebook is focused on refining the system toward a perfect user experience.

While the user experience will be changing, the biggest announcement is about Facebook’s new user base which continues to expand dramatically. Some analytics sources show the company attracting over 400 million unique visitors a month, however not all of those are necessarily registered users. Maintaining a platform which supports the largest user base of any social platform in the world take a significant amount of effort.

However Facebook continues to improve their technologies to manage this remarkable growth and is continuing to hire employees, surpassing 1,000 employees the last time we checked. As the changes roll out over the coming weeks, we will keep users up to date about how to manage their Facebook accounts most effectively as each change can often generate a substantial amount of confusion.

With 350 million users, there’s a good chance that most of your friends are already on the site. Do you have any friends that don’t use Facebook?

It has been a great year for making the world more open and connected. Thanks to your help, more than 350 million people around the world are using Facebook to share their lives online.

To make this possible, we have focused on giving you the tools you need to share and control your information. Starting with the very first version of Facebook five years ago, we’ve built tools that help you control what you share with which individuals and groups of people. Our work to improve privacy continues today.

Facebook’s current privacy model revolves around “networks” — communities for your school, your company or your region. This worked well when Facebook was mostly used by students, since it made sense that a student might want to share content with their fellow students.

Over time people also asked us to add networks for companies and regions as well. Today we even have networks for some entire countries, like India and China.

However, as Facebook has grown, some of these regional networks now have millions of members and we’ve concluded that this is no longer the best way for you to control your privacy. Almost 50 percent of all Facebook users are members of regional networks, so this is an important issue for us. If we can build a better system, then more than 100 million people will have even more control of their information.

The plan we’ve come up with is to remove regional networks completely and create a simpler model for privacy control where you can set content to be available to only your friends, friends of your friends, or everyone.

We’re adding something that many of you have asked for — the ability to control who sees each individual piece of content you create or upload. In addition, we’ll also be fulfilling a request made by many of you to make the privacy settings page simpler by combining some settings. If you want to read more about this, we began discussing this plan back in July.

Since this update will remove regional networks and create some new settings, in the next couple of weeks we’ll ask you to review and update your privacy settings. You’ll see a message that will explain the changes and take you to a page where you can update your settings. When you’re finished, we’ll show you a confirmation page so you can make sure you chose the right settings for you. As always, once you’re done you’ll still be able to change your settings whenever you want.

We’ve worked hard to build controls that we think will be better for you, but we also understand that everyone’s needs are different. We’ll suggest settings for you based on your current level of privacy, but the best way for you to find the right settings is to read through all your options and customize them for yourself. I encourage you to do this and consider who you’re sharing with online.

Thanks for being a part of making Facebook what it is today, and for helping to make the world more open and connected.
